Broadcom is narrowing its VMware partner ecosystem across the Americas and Asia-Pacific & Japan regions, focusing on fewer, higher-performing resellers to drive stronger customer outcomes. The shift is part of a broader strategy to align partners with Broadcom’s mission: helping enterprises unlock the full value of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) for modern private cloud environments.Following a comprehensive partner review, Broadcom is reducing the number of authorized VMware solution resellers. This move prioritizes partners with proven performance, technical depth, and a commitment to investing in customer success. The goal: deepen collaboration and ensure every partner interaction delivers measurable impact. To support this streamlined approach, Broadcom is consolidating the Broadcom Advantage Partner Program from four tiers to three—Pinnacle, Premier, and Select. The Registered tier is being retired. Requirements for the remaining tiers are being raised, including:Expert services capabilities or dedicated SMB practices for Pinnacle partners Committed sales and technical resources Joint business planning with VMware for top-tier partners Inactive or non-compliant partners will be phased out to maintain ecosystem integrity and customer trust, while some customers may need to shift to new partners. Those selected to remain in the program will take on expanded responsibilities and a greater share of customer engagement. Broadcom is supporting this transition to ensure continuity and value throughout. This sharper focus is designed to deliver a more capable partner network—one that can support complex transformations, accelerate AI initiatives, and improve cyber resilience. By concentrating on partners who are ready to lead, Broadcom is positioning VMware Cloud Foundation customers for long-term success. For resellers, this marks a shift to a more focused and performance-based ecosystem. Broadcom is making it clear: if you’re invested in delivering real value around VMware Cloud Foundation, through technical depth, consistent engagement, and scalable support, there’s a bigger opportunity to grow. But for those who haven’t kept pace, continued participation in the program may no longer be an option.
